I created this super cute baby shoe pattern based on a pair of knit booties I saw in a name brand department store.
Such a classic look, these booties are the stay-on type that are great for both boys and girls!
Crocheted using fingering weight yarn in color of choice (approx. 50 grams) and crochet hook size F (3.75 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge of 6 sc and 6 rows = 1″” on sole.
You’ll also need 2 small buttons and needle and thread.
Includes sizes:
0-3 mos – 3″” or 8 cm sole
3-6 mos – 3.5″” or 9 cm sole
6-12 mos – 4″” or 10 cm sole
(You could make these larger by using a sport weight yarn and larger hook.)
Stitches used include – ch, sl st, sc
Skill level: Easy/Intermediate
Pattern is written in standard American terms.
I really love this!! Pity I don’t know how to crochet. Is it possible to convert this (and your other gorgeous designs) to a knit pattern?
I don’t know how to knit at all, which is why I love creating “knit-look” crochet designs. As I recall, I based this pattern on a knitted pair of baby booties I saw at a high end department store, so my guess is yes, you could do this very same or similar design in knit. I’m not sure where you’d find the pattern though!
