I am a crochet designer. I first held a crochet hook at age 3 and I learned to crochet when I was 5 years old. I grew up playing with balls of yarn and making gifts for family and friends. To this day I absolutely love going to the yarn shop; it makes me giddy!
I am also a HUGE Anne of Green Gables fan and somehow even managed to find and marry my own Gilbert. Yes, my husband’s name is really Gilbert. 🙂
I am originally from Wisconsin, but now live with my husband near Auckland, New Zealand. Our daughters, Holland, Madison and Adelaide model many of my designs.
I began creating and publishing my own original crochet patterns in the mid-1990s while attending the University of Wisconsin. I have published several baby afghan patterns in various American crochet magazines. You can view the first design that I published here.
Holland Designs began in July, 2008, soon after the birth of my 1st daughter, Holland. Little sisters, Madison and Adelaide, soon joined the family business as models #2 & #3 in 2010 & 2012. I do the majority of my own photography and I really enjoy it. My husband Gilbert and I run our family craft business from our home near Auckland, New Zealand.
To date, I have designed 300+ patterns (and counting), and have had over 20,000 sales online in my Etsy pattern shop. I have also authored a pattern book, Beautiful Baby Shoes, published by Annie’s Attic, which sells various places online. Some of my designs also sell on anniesattic.com and e-patternscentral.com.
Below is a list of all the places that you can find my work online:
